Mikodesign is a Rotterdam based design studio, run by Erika Harberts. She loves textiles and prints and is looking to inspire other people to get creative with her fabrics and patterns. Ever since she graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, she began printing her self-illustrated fabrics by hand and started making lovely products with it for the home, kids and grown up’s.

Her work got more and more attention and spread all over the world, for example to France, Australia and Japan. In 2011 Erika started to design DIY fabric dolls and dolls clothes, which entered a whole new segment in her work: she was inspired by Frida Kahlo and the city of Paris to make characteristic dolls and a range of decorations.

In the fall of 2014, Erika launched her first batch of cotton fabric by the metre. She keeps on creating her products and new designs from her small garden studio in the heart of the city. Her two daughters, randomly found treasures, the world of art and vibrant international cities offer the inspiration to do so, on a daily basis. The result: beautiful designs that are made with love and attention for detail.
